How often do you hear someone telling you "you must do as you are told"?

If you are anything like me you have probably heard it a few times. When we know Jesus as our friend and God as our Father in heaven we should be obedient and do as he tells us.

Abraham is a very good example of someone who was obedient and did what God told him to do. God asked Abraham to go up a mountain with his son Isaac and offer him as a sacrifice. Abraham loved his son Isaac but knew that he must obey God so he took Isaac and went up the mountain. Isaac noticed that they had everything except the lamb which was usually offered in sacrifice and asked Abraham where the sacrifice was. Abraham replied, "“God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.”.

When they reached the mountaintop Abraham laid Isaac on the altar to sacrifice him when an Angel told him not to harm Isaac because he had obeyed God. When Abraham looked up he saw a ram caught in a bush. Because he believed and was obedient, God had provided a ram for sacrifice.

When we are obedient and trust God, he will bless us with all we need each day and more.
